2432barebonepicksNiagara on the Lake is one of my favorite places to shoot. Add Mary Jo + Jo to the equation and I’m a very happy photographer. Oh and dinosaurs…..did I mention the golden sparkling dinosaurs ?!?!?!?

First of all….when a bride says ” I booked this room just for you…….I know it’s one of your colors.” I melt. Rachel + Zvi must be one of my most laid back…….unique couples I have ever had the pleasure of photographing.
Their wedding oozed personality. From the Fluvog shoes to the purple velvet jacket, their details make me swoon. Every single thing Rachel was wearing had meaning. A dress from The Brides Project , gloves and fur wrap from her grand mother. The list goes on, too many to mention. It was a photographers dream. From the getting ready at the Ivy to the ceremony and reception at my favorite venue the Enoch Turner…….every where you looked there was the opportunity to capture amazing images.

See what I mean………..Even the chuppah was an heirloom!

Thank you Rachel+Zvi not only for the opportunity to get to know you and photograph you, but also for the extremely thoughtful gift of my favorite novel in limited edition print.

Elegant and fun, not two word that usually go together. But for this wedding it was certainly the case! Ashley and Teddy’s wedding was the most elegant and fun wedding of the year.  How could it not be elegant when the venue is the Royal York Hotel. Boys in bow ties and fur stoles all added to the sophistication. Everywhere I looked there was something stunning to shoot.

Thank you Ashley and Teddy for choosing me to document this amazing night.

I am so in love with this love session…….It makes makes me ache for sweater weather.

Ashley and Teddy came to the studio in Puslinch three days before their wedding for an barebonelove session.
I insist on a love session. Not just because……..but to get to know you as a couple.
And get to know your best side. I’d rather work it all out before the day of the wedding…….rather than wasting precious time on the day. If your comfortable in front of my camera before the day……then it is easy peasy.

I also want to know what makes you laugh, can I tell a dirty joke…..will you lay down in mud for me?
It’s all about making the big day as easy as possible.
And if your lucky you walk away with some fantastic images just like these two!barebonephoto engagement portrait

Dan and Michelle were married this past fall at London Club, in London, ON. This one was close to home. My Sister In Laws sister was getting married. And when you come from a family of four and the rest of your extended family is back in England. Family is anyone within arms length. So having my entire family present including my parents and big brother was pretty neat.
Dan and Michelle thanks for letting me be a part of your day. Hopefully you can show these images to your son……that is on the way! How cool is that. Cannot wait to meet him. The barebonefamily grows by one more!

SamaraOliver_blogboardSamara and Oliver were married this past July at the stunning Sunnybrook Estate.  Every little detail planned and executed by Samara and her wonderful family and friends. From the stunning dress to the centerpieces and flowers every inch of this wedding oozed the couples style.

I have to say first looks are becoming my favorite part of the wedding day. The emotion that we can capture in those first glimpses is pure and passion filled.

Samaran + Oliver’s first look was just that……’s hard not to get swept up in the moment.

Samara did an amazing job of creating unique center pieces for all the tables. Love the little gold animals….a reference to her career of as a Veterinarian.

Samara and Olive thank you for becoming a part of the barebonefamily. You are a fabulous addition to our crazy extended family! It was a joy being part of your day.

The entire process of getting to know Sue+Joe and was like falling in love. From the first email to the phone conversation when I just knew I had to be their wedding photographer to the day of their wedding.  This couple and family exude joy and happiness. And you can’t help but feel like you have become a part of their ex-tended family.

So to say there was love in the room when these two got married would be the understatement of the year!

And laughs……lets not forget how much my ribs hurt the day after.

The details were as colorful as the couple.

Sue + Joe thank you for choosing me to document this amazing time in your life. It was and honor to be a part of your day.

I’m catching up on weddings….teaching is finally done for the summer. So now I can put a little extra time into the blog. Which I have been neglecting lately.

The week leading up to this wedding we were all on pins and needles.
A big snow storm was on the way……..a airport closing…..roads closed kind of storm. It was the first time I thought maybe a wedding would be cancelled due to weather.

I got up 4 hours early to make sure I could get out the driveway and left 3 hours early………it was an interesting drive.
But not as near as bad as I was expecting………..that being said…..I am a country girl and grew up driving through a foot of snow.

Peter and Christina lucked out and it turned out to be an amazing day……isn’t it always after a storm.

Loved the light……..and the details.

This ring bearer knew how to party!

Love this last shot……taken out towards the lake. A cute moment for a cute couple.
